If the wind picks up tonight, we will need to cancel school, but we will let you know in the morning by 6:15 AM. Our buses will drive to the following stops to transport students to school. Wednesday is action-packed with the start of the tournament, FFA District Livestock in Billings, FFA District Speaking in Shepherd, and a Football Senior Leadership Meeting. The tournament continues Thursday through Saturday, promising four days of intense basketball action! Due to extreme cold weather conditions, the Huntley Project School District will operate bus routes with a one-hour delay. Just add one hour to the pickup times. For Example, if your normal bus pickup time is 7:05 AM, it will now be 8:05 AM. StopFinder will automatically update for those families using that app. Afternoon routes will run as normal and at normal times. Please contact Candi Buck at 406-967-2540 et. 501 for questions. Important: Please ensure all students riding the buses are dressed appropriately. Breakfast will be kept warm for those students riding the bus. Staff will be available at the school for students who are dropped off at their usual time. Stay warm and stay safe!

The Huntley Project Red Devils have an exciting week ahead, filled with athletic competitions, sign-ups, and special events for the entire community! On Monday, AAU Volleyball sign-ups will be held in the HS Commons from 6:00-8:00 PM. On Tuesday, both boys' and girls' basketball teams travel to Colstrip to take on the Colts, with games running throughout the day. Wednesday brings an opportunity for our FFA students to showcase their skills at the District Horse Evaluation at Aspen Ranch, while future ballplayers can sign up for Little League at the HS Commons from 5:30-7:30 PM. Thursday is a huge day, with our wrestlers beginning their State Tournament run at MetraPark at 4:00 PM, while back home, Senior Night Basketball against Lame Deer will be an emotional and competitive event. It’s also the last day of Winter Kid Connection. The intensity continues into Friday and Saturday as wrestling competes in the final rounds of the State Tournament, starting at 9:00 AM both days. The week wraps up with a special celebration at the FFA Sweetheart Ball at Chancey’s Event Center on Saturday night. Huntley Project Community, The Huntley Project School District will be closed on Monday, February 3, 2025, due to increasing snowfall, forecasted cold temperatures, and wind that has caused drifting on roads. I have concerns about our District being able to provide safe transportation for our students as well as our staff's travel. We will find a make-up day later this spring. All practices/contests are canceled or postponed. I apologize for any inconvenience. I hope this early notice allows our community to make any necessary adjustments due to the school cancellation. On Monday, join us for the School Board Meeting at 6:30 PM, where important decisions for our district's future will be discussed. Tuesday brings a meaningful chance to give back during the Riley Knickerbocker Blood Drive from 8:00 AM to noon at the Central Office. Midweek, sophomores will gain life-saving skills during CPR Training in the HS Gym on Wednesday morning. Thursday is a proud moment for our wrestling team as they host the HP Quad Senior Night starting at 3:00 PM—come out and cheer on our Red Devils! Friday and Saturday are brimming with activities. Our HS wrestlers compete in Townsend, departing early for game times at 11:00 AM on Friday and 9:00 AM on Saturday. Meanwhile, our HS basketball teams face tough competition against Lame Deer on Friday and Colstrip at home on Saturday, with both JV and varsity games promising excitement. Tuesday brings more excitement with Junior High Basketball taking on Shepherd—7th grade at 4:00 PM and 8th grade at 5:15 PM. Midweek, stay focused and engaged as the Prom Meeting kicks off in Mrs. Jobman’s Room (324) at 12:30 PM. The weekend promises even more thrills: on Friday, High School Wrestling heads to Miles City, while our Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball teams light up the court in a BLACKOUT game against Baker. Saturday, the momentum continues as Wrestling stays strong in Miles City, the Speech and Drama team showcase their talents at Lockwood, and Junior High Boys’ Basketball battles Columbus. Start the week off right with the First Day of Winter Kid Connection from 3:45-5:45 PM, offering a fun and engaging after-school experience for kids! In the evening, join us for the Speech and Drama Open House as it is a great opportunity to discover the exciting world of speech and drama. They will do another Open House on Thursday. The PTA Meeting is a perfect time to connect with other parents and stay informed about school events! Tuesday HS Wrestling Team heads to Cody, Wyoming For those interested in agriculture and leadership, the FFA Meeting will take place in Room 403 at 6:30 PM. It's a great opportunity to get involved in the FFA community! Thursday will see some thrilling basketball action as The 7th JH Boys’ Basketball team will host St. Francis while the 8th grade team will travel to St. Francis. On Friday our HS Wrestling Team will compete in Cut Bank while FFA Districts will be held in Hysham. Please note there is a PLC Day for HP staff. Saturday is packed with exciting events! The HS Wrestling Team competes in Cut Bank. At home, the HS Girls’ Basketball and HS Boys' Basketball teams will face St. Labre. Finally, the Speech and Drama Team heads to Roundup for their meet, with events starting at 8:00 AM. It’s a packed Saturday, so come out and cheer for your teams!

The week starts with no school on Monday, December 30, through Wednesday, January 1, allowing students and staff to enjoy an extended winter break. Classes resume on Thursday, January 2, with a busy slate of activities for the week ahead. The Huntley Project High School Girls' and Boys' Basketball teams will play at Lodge Grass, with games at noon. The high school wrestling team will host the HP Mixer at 5:00 PM. On Friday, January 3, the Boys' Basketball team hosts Joliet with games at 2:00 PM (C-Team), 3:30 PM (JV), and 6:30 PM (Varsity), while the Girls' Varsity Basketball team plays at 5:00 PM. The wrestling team will compete in Bozeman at the Tom LeProwse Bozeman Invitational, starting at 11:00 AM, with departure set for 7:00 AM. The wrestling team continues their competition in Bozeman, beginning at 9:00 AM. Great way to start off 2025!

Adult Education Weigthroom will be closed until January 6th.

The Huntley Project School District has no T-shirt sales supporting programs. There are some sales for gear with programs, but you will receive a secure link. No people are calling from our school or our program to sell shirts. If you receive any requests for donations for T-shirt sales, do not donate. If you have any doubts, please call 406-967-2540 and ask for Mr. Kaczmarek or Mr. Wandle, as they will know the current fundraising opportunities being conducted.
