Now that we have gathered the facts, we want to share a last update with our community on the shelter-in-place on February 4, 2026.

A community member reported that another community member overheard a comment about shooting at the school by a person walking on a road by the school.

Out of an abundance of caution, we immediately implemented a shelter-in-place while we assessed the situation.

Law enforcement/ administration quickly located and questioned the individual. There were no verifiable threats made. Multiple sources confirmed the individual was upset and yelling about a lost dog. We were able to enact, verify, and lift the shelter place in 19 minutes.

The school did have a no trespassing order issued.

We also discovered a settings error on our side in Infinite Campus that prevented some notifications from reaching some families. We apologize and this has been corrected. The last thing we try to do is add stress to a situation that is one of the most stressful for any community member who has their student entrusted to us.

We still encourage community members to please double check your contact information and messenger settings to ensure alerts are enabled.

We will always act quickly and cautiously to keep our students and staff safe.
