March 16, 2025
We want to inform you about an important opportunity for our students. On Monday, March 17th, our 7th–12th-grade students will attend a powerful presentation on the dangers of drug and vaping use among teenagers. We are grateful to Superintendent Drea O'Donnell and the Shepherd School District for inviting us to participate in this event. We will attend this presentation at Shepherd from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
The presentation will be led by Michael DeLeon, the founder of Steered Straight, Inc., a nationally recognized non-profit organization focused on educating young people about the dangers of substance abuse, bullying, and making unhealthy life choices. As the #1 school educator internationally on vaping and fentanyl awareness, Michael DeLeon brings invaluable insights to help students make informed, healthy decisions.
We recognize that substance use among teenagers is a growing concern, and we believe education is key to prevention. This presentation will empower students with the knowledge to resist peer pressure and make choices that support their health and well-being.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s school office. Working together, we can help our students make the best choices for a bright and successful future.
I appreciate your support!
Respectfully,
Mark Wandle- Huntley Project School District Superintendent
