Google Workspace Parent/Guardian Form

Huntley Project District utilizes Google Workspace for Education. Google Workspace for Education is a set of education productivity tools from Google, including Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Classroom, and more, used by students and teachers around the world. Students use their Google Workspace for Education accounts for completing assignments, communicating with their teachers, and signing into their Chromebooks, and receive instruction from the School District.

In addition, the School District also allows students to access certain other Google services with their Google Workspace for Education accounts. Specifically, your child may have access to the following "Additional Services" which may include, butare not limited to: Google Earth, Google Arts & Culture, and Google Applied Digital Skills.

The School District has established a process for parents and guardians to consent to their student's use of Google's Additional Google Services, consistent with your rights as a parent under Montana law, federal law, and School District policy. Completing the Google Form will confirm your consent as a parent or guardian for your student to access the additional services outlined above. You and your child can also visit https://myaccount.google.com while signed in to the Google Workspace for Education account to view and manage the personal information and settings of the account.

The attached supplemental document is provided to answer frequently asked questions. Contact the administration if you have other questions.

Should you not provide consent for Additional Google Services, your student will be prevented from using any device due to the inability to block apps for single users. If you do not consent to these Additional Services: your student(s) will no longer have access to the additional services outlined above. Your student will only use educational methods that do not require access to Google services. The School District will provide these alternative methods, and the use of these methods will not affect a student's grade in any affected course.

Further, the School District allows students to access additional third-party services with their Google Workspace for Education accounts. Our school administrator enables access to these third-party-party services with your student's Google Workspace for Education account, and authorizes the access and use of student data in a manner permitted by the Montana Pupil Online Personal Information Act and the governing data privacy agreement with the applicable third-party. You may refer to Huntley Project School District #24 Board Policy Manual: Policy 3650 Montana Pupil Online Personal Information Protection Act.
